Still Testing

Just checking to see if the server problems have been resolved. My server is allowing entries to post, but instead of pinging Technorati, Blogrolling, etc, it simply goes to a blank screen after I post an entry. Not a big deal, but I think it's causing a number of readers to miss my newest entries.

So in the name of adding some kind of new content, I'll just mention that I caught a solid show by Weird War at the Black Cat last night (more info on Weird War, including an interview with lead singer Ian Svenonius).

Update: Checking one more time to see if the server is working again. For now, I'll link to this Alternet article, so that I remember to read it later. I'll also mention that when things re running better, you can expect reviews of several films, including one or two from the DC Indeopendent Film Festival, as well some interesting Chilean films that have just been released on DVD.

Update 2: Continuing to test things out. I missed this film at the DCIFF this morning (who goes to a movie at 11 AM!?), but Beyond Babylon looks really interesting. The DVD's on the way, so hopefully I'll have a review up soon.

I've been having trouble, too, even when I post with ecto. Rebuilding seems to work.

I had to rebuild several times to get rid of an entry that double-posted. Of course, I may have successfully rebuilt the first time and didn't know it because the rebuild was so slow.

Jason seems to think there are server problems, so we'll see how it goes.

Dude, I almost went to Weird War last night! We could have rocked out. I am a big fan of Ian "The Genius" Svenonius, starting back in the Nation of Ullsses days. Me & my companion were tired, we went to see "Failure To Launch" instead, pretty good Hollywood rom-com.

Now I am off to go check out the Svenonius links you provided.

Funny, I'd just caught a documentary short about Dischord that showed a brief glimpse of Svenonius from his "Ulysses" days. Really great stage presence at the show and well-crafted songs, as well.

Let's try this comment again. Didn't seem to work last time (I'll e-mail it to ya if it fails this time CT).

Dude, I almost went to Weird War last night! But wuz tired, checked out "Failure To Launch: instead, pretty good Hollywood Rom-Com. Should've gone to see WW, we could have rocked out together. Am a big fan of Ian "The Genius" Svenonius, starting back in the Nation of Ulysses days. His career is worthy of study as a model for the new dv/dvd/self-distro indie filmmakers like me. Ian's made a lot of art, gotten them distributed, has a career w/ out having to mess w/ the mainstream music industry.

Off to go explore the links you provided.

Enjoy the links. Would have been cool to run into you at the Black Cat. I was with a couple of the filmmakers from DCIFF and could have introduced you.

Anyway, enjoyed the show, and all that.
