Blogs and Jobs
In other news, the first round of the MLA job list came out on Friday, which means that you can expect somewhat more infrequent posting around these parts. This has nothing to do with Ivan Tribble's advice about blogging. I'm just really busy this week.

Lucky for you that the conference is in D.C. this year! It'll be nice to be able to go HOME after days of interviewing and Making a Good Impression.
Saving travel $$$ ain't so bad either!

You know, I'm mildly ambivalent about the conference being in DC. Sure, I'll have more flexibility than usual when it comes to attending panels and scheduling interviews and, yes, I'll save lots of travel money (which I'll spend on other conferences, no doubt), but in the past, when Big Conferences have been in my city (as SCMS was in Atlanta a few years ago), I sort of felt disconnected from the conference when I go home at night.
Maybe it's the "Worlds are Colliding" feeling, but I feel like I'm having to prepare for MLA differently this year. Not that I'm complaining or anything....
