Blog Block

I'm suddenly finding it incredibly difficult to compose blog entries, and the longer I wait to blog something, the less likely I am to blog it. I've had this kind of blog block before, also during a pretty stressful time (I'd rather not talk here about the things that are stressing me out), so I know that I'll get back into the groove soon. In a way, I think this post is simply intended to get me back into the habit of blogging and to remind me that I've had similar periods of uncertainty in the past.

Here's hoping that you feel less stressed soon!

Thanks....Once I finish grading the stack of papers I've been dodging, I'm sure things will ease up a bit. Among other things, I'm teaching four classes for the first time in my career, and it's taking a while to adjust to that kind of schedule....

Grading, yikes. I'm hoping you feel better soon too.

I should finish grading on Monday, so that's not a major complaint, really (even though I mentioned it last night). I'm still waiting to see where I'll be working next year, and that's the primary source of stress right now. For several reasons, I haven't wanted to talk about that in my blog. This has been one of those semesters where I often wished for a pseudonymous blog.

Hope things settle down soon. I too find that if I take a few days off from the blog, there's generally a slow period of trying to get back into it, and yeah the longer you wait the harder to do that first post. It's like calling a friend--after a certain period, you start to feel like when you call them you better have something really good to say.

Scrivener, that's a good way of describing it. Because I haven't been blogging as much, I now feel more pressure to be entertaining, interesting, or brilliant. Or something. The good news: I'm feeling much better, even if I know that things may not settle down for a while.

we've all been there, the slowness or dullness and the sense of mounting expectation. Scrivener hits it exactly.
