The Stepford Corollary

Given the hypothesis offered by Aaron Hendren in Film Threat that zombie movies tend to proliferate during Republican presidencies, what conclusions can we make about the fact that a remake (IMDB) of the Nixon-Ford era film, The Stepford Wives, is coming soon to a multiplex near you?

Besides zombie movies, Republicans are good for loud, alienated rock.

Reagan and Bush 41 brought us Nirvana, Fuzazi, and Black Flag (not to mention "Reagan Youth," a lesser band with a great name... RIP Dave Insurgent...)

And Bush 43 has brought us the Vines, the White Stripes, and the Strokes. (If I were more with it I would probably list 5 other bands here)

Reagan Youth is awesome. I haven't listened to them in a long time. I suppose if you take this back to Nixon/Ford, you could talk about the MC5, Led Zeppelin, bands like that.
